Veterinary Assistant Skills

Interning at a veterinary clinic is allowing me to gain valuable skills and hands-on experience that will enhance my knowledge of animal care while preparing me for a future in veterinary medicine. Some of the skills I have gained during my internship include learning the essential questions and information required for determining various clinical diagnoses; learning and understanding the different formulas required during the various stages of anesthesiology in animals; performing various types of suturing and removal of sutures; learning how to perform intravenous (IV) cannulation; performing routine grooming tasks safely.
