Veterinary Assisting

V  olunteering at a veterinary clinic has provided me with invaluable hands-on experience and the opportunity to acquire practical skills that are shaping my journey toward a career in veterinary medicine. Through this internship, I have gained a deeper understanding of animal care and the intricate processes involved in clinical diagnosis and treatment.

One of the most significant aspects of my learning has been mastering essential questions and gathering pertinent information for accurate clinical diagnoses. This foundational skill is critical in determining the best course of action for animal patients.

I have also delved into the complexities of anesthesiology, learning the various formulas used at different stages to ensure animal safety and comfort during procedures.

Developing technical skills like suturing, suture removal, and performing intravenous (IV) cannulation has been equally rewarding, as these are crucial in both routine and emergency veterinary care. Additionally, I have learned to perform routine grooming tasks with a focus on animal safety and well-being.
